Storage and handling of lyophilised research peptides

Lyophilised peptides are typically stored sealed, frozen and protected from light. Repeated temperature cycling is the most common source of avoidable degradation.

Laboratory practice is to log the batch number against every experiment so that any anomaly can be traced back to the analysed material.

Vials should remain sealed until used within a controlled environment by qualified personnel following the receiving laboratory's own standard operating procedures.
